    Beacon Markers

Any suggestion as to why I don't hear the beacon markers on an ILS approach?

    Beacon markers

The ADF is on. What frequency should it be tuned to?

It doesn't need to be tuned, it is a part of the ILS and is tuned automatically. You can tune for a compass locator on the ADF, but it's not usually neccesary. Sometimes if there is a compass locator on the daparture end it will be tuned as part of the missed approach procedure.

I'm not familiar with your aircraft, but there should be a volume control of some sort for the beacons. In the 727 it's located on the audio switching panels on the control stand.

If you are flying a "modern" airliner, you will need to sectect the "marker" button on the audio seclector panel

    Beacons

    Hi
I'm flying a 737. I can find no volme control for the radio to pick up the marker beacons. Also, if I did hear them how would I direct my aircraft to the outer marker?

Would one simply press the "IDENT" button on the NAV1,2 radio.

If you are performing an ILS approach you do not fly to the marker. You need the approach charts for where ever you are flying to for the ILS procedure.

You will pass over the markers, but they are not used as the IAP or FAF. At least I've never seen them used as that.

...On the PMDG 737NG it's activated by pressing the 'marker' button on the audio panel I believe.
