Passenger Chatter and Announcments

Before I look into announcments closely, can announcments given by the FAs be heard in the cockpit? (either thru the door or over a loudspeaker?)

If your talking about what the cabin crew might be annoucing, I dont think you hear that in the cockpit, but as in the FSManager program you're simulating the annoucements that a captain or first officer would make to the crew or passengers. So, if you were sitting next to the FO as the Captain and told him to annouce a taxi delay, you would of course him annouce that to the passengers.

However, are you using FS9 or FSX? Look at options based on that...
