Re: KLM077 PH-BGD New Seat and Tiller
I've started to make some drawings but comparing it to the drawing of Steve the dimensions are very similar. I don't think it makes any sense investing lot's of time creating new detailed drawings and a building description.
A complete no nonsense building package can contain:
- Shopping list.
- Drawings of all separate parts.
- Assembly description.
Of course i will measure up some specific dimensions you like to know.
Be patient, if i find the time, i will create some documentation.

Re: KLM077 PH-BGD New Seat and Tiller
If the figures are the same indeed there is no need. Save your time for more inportant things but if you have some tips & trics (or do's & don'ts), I'm sure we all can benefit.
I myself am interested in the arm rests and their construction and the text that seems to be on the side and back.

Re: KLM077 PH-BGD New Seat and Tiller
Hi JWS,
The construction of the arm rests: Main axis with a bold (8mm) and nuts, alumunium pipe (inside 8mm/10mm outside dia.) metal plates (round with 8mm hole).
The arm rest are made of 3 layers if 18mm MDF.
To lock the arm rests in the outer positions see the attached pictures.
The text plaques are also on the pics.

Re: KLM077 PH-BGD New Seat and Tiller
Hi JWS,
The text plaques:
1. I Googled around to have the correct text on "737 cockpit".
2. Determined the approximate dimensions of the plates.
3. Draw them in Adobe Illustrator.
4. Print them on an Inkt Jet Printer.
5. Cover the plated with matt transparant foil (prevent fading away the text after a landing in the Hudson River).
6. Glue them on the seat where you like (used water based Pritt for easy replacement, yea, in conjunction with point 5....)
Regards from Bas

Re: KLM077 PH-BGD New Seat and Tiller
Hi KLM077,
Nice looking seat- must get mine finished but I must say yours does look good, nice ideas about the way to restrict the movement on the arm rests too.
Any chance you would upload the pdf to the site so others could print it too?
Cheers
Mike
