Re: Christmas Wish List?
Hmmm as a realworld also pilot (general aviation) I wouldn't buy those headsets in the very first phase of training. Better go for some http://www.flightcom.net/headsets/4dlx-headset.php for instance (which are really quiet in flight).
Are you sure that with these you'd have impedence problems?(trying to find the exact specs on websites)....

Re: Christmas Wish List?
Try installing AND running them by right clicking, select properties, then compatibility tab, and select the compability mode that the program was designed for (like XP or Windows 98 ). In addition, also select "Run as Administrator".
By doing this I was able to get a lot of programs to work.Grant D.

Thanks Grant. The guys over at WOAI forums have now got me up and running. What a frustrating day I've had but what a great community flightsimmers are. Happy Christmas to all.

Re: Christmas Wish List?
That's from what I've read anyway. I'm not sure from a specific avi headgear standpoint. They are designed to run from between 12v and 40v. So my thinking is that the mic is quiet sensitive to your voice when in a plane but at your computer you would need to turn the input volume down to reduce the sensitivity hence the impedance problem. The input volume is so low that the clarity goes away. Much like turning your speakers up but turning your output volume from your computer down. You can still hear them but at a reduced level of clarity.
You can run the input side through an amp (intercom) and solve that problem as then it's reduced electronically while still maintaining clarity. In audio terms that would be like a pre-amp as both headsets (intercom) would need to hear each other prior to being fed into the aircrafts comm radio.
I'm not sure if that is a problem with all avi headsets or just a few? I was hoping to find perhaps someone here that has an avi headset that he/she uses for both simming and real world flight?
Aircraft Spruce has a nice set that are really quite reasonable. Accept for the above mentioned difficulty if it does exist? I would then need an intercom to solve that adding to the cost. Hence the Humming and Hawing a the start of my post.. heheUp Up and away in my beautiful my beautiful - Amphibian
