Re: CNC,d 737 Overhead Update
If this is your first effort I can hardly wait to see your second try. Absolutely great result!!
I am in the process of making a cnc machine (35% into it) from MDF and have stalled a little because I was not sure I would get the engraving result that makes a good panel without using a laser cnc (which is rather expensive). However, jugding from the pictures, I could easily live with what you have been able to accomplish. So, just to let you know, you have inspired me to get busy and complete my cnc.
Is there any way to see pictures of your cnc machine? Also, as I am new to the cnc world as well, did you find the learning curve difficult?
Thanks for sharing.
Ian

Re: CNC,d 737 Overhead Update
Thanks guys for all your kind words, Ian at the start it looked a daunting task, But as i slowly started to build the cnc machine following this guys great tutorial. http://buildyourcnc.com/latest.aspx Things slowly started to make sense. Im still learning almost every cut or drawing. Do lots of research & ask questions. The videos here http://www.machsupport.com/videos/ really helped me understand more of the CNC thing. While building the machine i made sure all my mdf parts were cut Exactly right which i think has reflected back on being able to cut precise. no movement or backlash. Good luck with it ian let us know how you go. Im so glad I took the the time to do this Very Rewarding..
Cheers Riche

Re: CNC,d 737 Overhead Update
Riche,
Thanks for the fast response and sound advice. I am actually building a copy of one of Patrick's designs. I will definitely keep everyone up to date on the progress of both the cnc machine and the sim.
