Is your PID implemented via hardware (op-amps ect.) or via software (code in microprocessor or PC program) like Ian's?

I made motor driver function same as r/c servo. I use PIC16F716 with EPWM + H-bridge circuit.

That is an amazing piece of work you have built. I have to second the guy who mentioned enclosing it not only that but adding a projector as well that was mounted to the motion pit. Though it would affect the throw and picture of the projector......

In any case great work I cant wait to read more about it.

Some History
I have had a good look at this platform and something about it reminded me of the simulator chair which I believe was originally designed by www.rocknride.com who were based in Germany!
I think they may have been sold off or ceased to trade. They also used the site www.cybermind.com if my memory serves me correctly.

Many people modified the original pneumatics and installed moters driving screws.

I wouldn't worry about that..... As far as I know, you can make anything you want even if it's someone else's design, as long as you don't sell it or try to make money by using it.

If you're worried about duplicating an item and being against the law, then there are thousands of sim-builders that would be in trouble. At least, that's my opinion, what ever it's worth

Most designs are merely generic concepts adapted for simulators. People like to try and scare the **** out of you if they feel that you are a threat to their income. If anyone does complain take it as a compliment, then cite them 10 other places that do things like theirs.

Yeah I totally agree with Matt and Brad. Nobody's going to get on your back regarding something you made for home use, even if its a complete copy of their design. I'm not a lawyer but as far as I know no one would have a good case against you unless you start selling them commercially.

Apologies if I stirred up a "hornets nest"!!

I would not worry about duplicating or replicating any part of this design as a detailed audit of its structure neither indicates or suggests anything that is not already in the "public domain".

The comments by others are valid and correct and you can make what you like for your own personal use but not for subsequent personal profit to the financial detriment of the original inventor (if there ever was one)!

I would get on with "creating, inventing and building" and not worry!
