Re: Real Throttle and Pedestal conversion project
Truly excellent work, well done! I come across real panels and parts all the time, if only I had the expertise, knowledge and time to be able to bring some of them to life

Re: Real Throttle and Pedestal conversion project
Thank you Simon for your explain and photos! Great shoots!
I have already expanded the connectors, because i didnīt need it and new wiring is for me a little bit easier then. On the middle connector was three white wires and 4 blue wires. The blue wires are for the gravity Gear handle. The three white wires had one a smaller diameter as the other two. When i connect one big wire to the + the Leverscala works, the other wire doesīt work. I think thats the wire for the two Trimwheels Scala. If I followed the cable, there is a current distributor. Now there are two possibilities. First: The wire for the Trimwheel Scala is broke. Second: All the bulbs in the Scala are damaged and need a change.
For the ATH/DISC i had the same wiring diagram like Omni.
But know a question about possibility. I can not believe, that you have to remove all the trim wheel parts to maintenance only the bulbs. Thatīs a really heavy workload in contra to the Lever Scala. Can it be that just the Lever is only removed? I had seen a picture where you can see a type of VGA port, where the Lever was. If not, which is the right tool to remove the trim wheel?
I try it with a 12 Socket for ratchet. I hope thats the right name in englishAnd of course, sorry for my bad english.
Cheers Florian

Re: Real Throttle and Pedestal conversion project
Hi Florian,
You are right, it is possible to remove upper part of throttle control lever and cover with throttle light scale but I am almost sure that won't give you enough space to remove trim light prisms! In order to get to the bulbs you have to unscrew and remove prisms completely. Therefore I think it is necessary to remove both pitch trim and scale wheels.
Cheers,
Simon

Re: Real Throttle and Pedestal conversion project
Hi All,
Yes Simon, you are right, too!
It was much easier to remove the Trim-Wheel and Scala. Canīt open the Screws of the lever, they were trapped.
2 Bulbs was damaged, but the strangest thing was the connection one of this prism. Ground and + was the Same wire! Very strange and i think there was something wrong. I cut all the wires and made a new one... Now all works fine and by the way i can clean up the Toothwheels and the Inside of the Lever with a little bit WD40.
Now i have to look, what is the easiest way to interface the lever and motorize the Trimwheel.
Some pictures from inside:

Re: Real Throttle and Pedestal conversion project
Very interesting pictures Tcane! I have yet to take apart my trim wheels so your pictures will be helpful.
Have you decided if you will repaint the trim wheels with the new black and white design? I would also like to do so, but do not know the measurements.
I would also like to hear your ideas on how you will attach a motor to the trim wheel.Soarbywire - Airbus Flight Simulation and Engineering | Jeehell FMGS - Free professional A320 avionics software for the cockpit enthusiast.

Re: Real Throttle and Pedestal conversion project
Hi all
I have also an real Throttle at home. The use the Throttle I have mounted a wooden shaft to the turn point in the box below. Then I put a poti in. You have to cut some parts away to make it.
For the trimwheel have some test, but nothing that works good for me. So it is still unter construction.
If desired I can later make some picture.
