Upgrading a yoke from gameport to usb
Hello!
I'm Jose and glad to be here.
I have an old AETI all metal yoke with a game port controller. I've used a game port to usb converter successfully for win 7 64, but lately I've had to replace the converter and the the new ones (I've tried more than one) don't work as well as the old one did. I want to change the internal electronic components of my yoke and was wondering if someone can help me locate some parts:
All the electronic parts are replaceable.
2 Dual rocker switches (8 buttons)
4 push buttons
1 side potentiometer (Elevator)
1 rotary potentiometer (Aileron)
1 game port electronic controller
I need an USB electronic controller board that will support 12 buttons or less and 2 analog inputs (X & Y Axis). I can get the buttons and rocker switches but need to buy a controller board for internal use.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks.
Jose

Re: Upgrading a yoke from gameport to usb
Hi Les,
Thank you very much for your quick response.
I don't see the Buo386, but the BU0836A should meet my need. Based on the sales page I can use only the 2 analog inputs, hat, and a few buttons. Here's the link:

Re: Upgrading a yoke from gameport to usb
Jose,
You missed of the X, version is there at the top of the page, dearer than the A. The A version can do limited number of switches before you have to add a diode matrix. The x takes inputs directly and has push in terminals making connections easier.
