LED Building Help
Hey guys, I just heard about back lighting a flight sim panel and though that it looked pretty sweet. Anyways, I am really bad at electronics and was wodnering if anyone could help me with this situation: I am planning on building a Boeing 737-800 cockpit and what color LED's should I use? Also, I want my LED's so that I have multiple ones connected to one source and they can all be turned on with one switch.
Thanks a lot and look forward to any responses

Re: LED Building Help
I thought that the cockpit backlighting on the 737 was amber/orange?

Re: LED Building Help
You'll find some pics and "how-to" regarding backlighting in my buildpost as well. See signature.
About the color of the backlighting, the come in amber AND white in the real aircrafts as well, so pick your choice. You can get amber color by using red+orange plasticfilm between LED and panel. Color from the amber LEDs is to bright right from the box.

Re: LED Building Help
Take a look at my website detailing retrofitting backlighting on an OC MCP. I used a combination of Yellow and Orange lighting gel film purchased off ebay. When stuck on the back of each panel the white LED lighting turns a nice orange without dulling the intensity. Also used it on the EFIS units.
