    Power Supply for OpenCockpits USBOuts

    Does anyone have any recommendations? Should I use a PC based Power Supply or a wall based Power Supply?

    What do you all use to power the card?

    I have searched through every electronics store in my area, but I have been unable to find a supply cable with a two pin connector that matches the card's power supply port. Do any of you know a specific name for the connector used?

    On an unrelated note, there also appears to be one on the USB Axes Card as well. Does it need a power supply to work or is that just for lighted switches?

    Good to know. Now, since I have a bunch of usb cables lying around, I was wondering if I could cut them and solder their 5v and GND leads to the wires you just brought up, then plug them into my SIOC PC's USB Port?

    Here is what you want. Best to use a polarized plug. Otherwise very easy in the heat of the moment to plug
    single pins on to incorrect terminals and your pcb will be toast.

    P.S Not advisable to use USB port for 5v. Very limited current and if you should reach
    the limit the funny things can start happening with your USB connected devices.

    Indeed, using 2 of the 4 wires. But do not solder directly, use a MOLEX connector.
