Backlighting for Opencockpits Radio modules
Hi all,
Has anyone had any success with backlighting the opencockpits radio modules? Where is the best place to 'hack' into the circuit boards. Any advice welcome?
Cheers

Hi Jason,
Have you read this? Might be of use to you (while not being radio module specific): http://kennair.com.au/backlight.html

Re: Backlighting for Opencockpits Radio modules
Thanks that was an interesting post. The opencockpits radio modules come WITH backlighting already but I'd like to be able to control on/off and brightness. To do this you need to 'hack' into the board to isolate the leds and supply power. I wondered if anyone had done this previously and knew where to start.

Re: Backlighting for Opencockpits Radio modules
I removed all the leds from behind the face plates and replaced them with a warm white LED strips, dimmable and controllable.
Voided the warranty probably, though.

Re: Backlighting for Opencockpits Radio modules
Hello Folks
Got the same problem. Contacted the support guys, and was told it can be done with the "OC autoconfig" SW they have, while no need for any I/O cards.
Does anyone here know how to do this, since I have no idea how to work with the "sioc" sw ?
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Isaac
