Two parallel 7 segment displays on OC Display card output
I lack one display output to have enough outputs. So now I ask, is there anyone who has tried to connect two 7 segment paralel over the same output.
These two displays shall only show zero.
I use Open cockpit Displaycard.Sincerely,
Claus

Re: Two parallel 7 segment displays on OC Display card output
Hi Claus,
You should be able to connect all 6 segments together to form the zero and feed from 5v in series
with a resistor. Using a 7 segment display is like wiring up 7 leds .
Hope this helps, if u need any further help just let us know.

Not in series.
A 7-segment display has either a common anode or common cathode. You could wire the segment pins together with a resistor, so that they're all in parallel. Choose your resistor for the total current of all the segments.

The Open Cockpit display card uses no resistors to limit the curent, ( but pulses I think ).
I have now tryet to connect two segments parallel, and it seams to works fine.Sincerely,
