Wiring help! new to the Cockpit business
I'm new to this Cockpit building business, and from what I see is that everyone here in the forum is pretty clued up.
I have just started my cockpit building, I have a Saitek Throttle, Yoke, Rudder pedals, Radio panel and switch panel. I want to fly PMDG aircraft.
I would like to build a small panel with switches, knobs and push buttons. I plan to use an additional joystick controller to control most of these.
My question is. Where do I find help in wiring these items so I don't blow things up. I would like to find a simple guide of sorts.
I am clued up on push buttons but the rotary incremental knobs (changing altitude on PMDG) presents different problems when it comes to wiring.
If anyone could advise I would be grateful. One more thing if someone could tell me if the joystick controller approach is a good one, if not which type of controller is better. Keep in mind I'm not an electric circuit genius .
Thank you

Re: Wiring help! new to the Cockpit business
Hi Steven
I think you only get problems, if you want to use the rotary encoders on an ordinary joysticks print.
I suggest that you buy this joystick controller:
http://www.leobodnar.com/products/BU0836X/
Here you can connect the encoders directly, while you have many more inputs at your disposal.
I have also tried to use the PCB from an old joystick and if I extended the wires too much, then there came noise into the input, and zero point fluctuated up and down. But with a little luck it may well be used to simulate buttons, throttle , speed brake and reverse thrustSincerely,
Claus
