what is the best take off procedure?
...wishing back the times when I used PS1.3 or the PMDG.....well this pm stuff can make trouble.
PM 737-800NG with POSKY and default cockpit
Problem: Normal and precise preparation. Weight & Balance and Fuel and FMC, initial clb thrust reduction 500 ft AGL. Several trials:
TO/GA & VNAV/LNAV engaged
To/GA & LNAV after take off (over 500ft AGL)
only TO/GA manual up to approx. 2000ft
1.) speed goes up 240-270ktns
2.) when engaging A/P plane starts a dive. horrible!
Is there any incompatibility with POSKY?
What is the correct take off procedure?
Does this software have bugs to live with?
Do I miss something fundamental?
How is the thrust reduction is triggered?
What are the correct take off procedures?
thanks in advance

Several sids in the PM nav database contains one or two first rnav fixes with a fixed altitude. On the plates you can read ie min altitude 500ft but the nav data converter seems to interpret it as fixed 500ft. It's shown on the legs page on the right side of the fix with a highlighted altitude.
If your above the fixed alt when engaging the AP it will try to capture that altitude for the inbound wp and results in a dive.
The solution is to put an A (A as "Above") on the scratchpad and insert it with the corresponding line select key next to the altitude on the right side before TO.
This is a common problem for European sids with PM navdata. I don't know about others but it could be worth checking.
