Hello from Norway
Hi.
I've been around for a while and now I feel it's the moment to tell I’m here and say HELLO from Norway to a great community.
In the last months I’ve tried to catch up to speed concerning cockpit building and this site have been visited almost daily, finding something new every day – thanks guys!
I hope I can contribute myself one day, but for now I’m a “consumer”.
I'm living in Norway - just outside Oslo (40km from ENGM) and for the last year been planning to bring desktop simming to the next level.
I decided quite early to go for the Level-D 767. The reasons are many, but mainly two factors were important; total price-tag and interfacing capabilities (Nico’s Lekseecon and hardware from OpenCockpit). To get the cost further down I have to accept to spend more spare time at the building process. That’s OK, but I needed some “help” – so the CNC project had to go first and the unit is now ready. I think that’s one of the “smartest” tools out there and right on spot for our needs.
I hope some panels are ready this autumn though it’s a long and winding road. I meet some challenges every day. This is actually an important part of this hobby – you have to use your brain and meet the challenges and find solutions – either by e.g. asking and searching or by your self.
The path I have decided to go include a lot of drawings and at the moment I’m about to finish the front including MIP, VOR's, MCP and Glarewings. The first prototype panel (VOR) is ready and I hope I’m able to show some pictures of the final version soon.
Then comes the remaining………
Happy landings
