Ch Throttle Quadrant Settings
Hello:
Just acquired a CH Throttle Quadrant. I have been able to program "almost"
everything, but I am stuck here:
1) The throttles (3 for DF727 and 2 for LDS767) only start to "truly" react
in the upper half of their travel and by then, they are (obviously) quite
sensitive. I have tried the "slope" in the FSUIPC throttle assignments to no
avail. I have them programmed with the idle at the "notch" and reverse
below it ...
How can I get the throttles to react from the beginning of the travel above
the "notch"?
2) I have been trying to set the buttons under the throttles on the quadrant,
to activate the "fuel control" switches (a.k.a "engine start"). But I have
been unable either through the simulator itself or FSUIPC.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Ch Throttle Quadrant Settings
Hi!
I'm using Ch Control Manager for initial calibration of my Ch TQ and it's
working perfect. When using the ChCtrlMng I also have an app called
Cmstart.exe in my Autostart folder wich initiate the Ch devices at startup.
I have assigned the buttons to the autostart function for each engine. Not
very realistic but the best I could do without PMsystems.

Re: Ch Throttle Quadrant Settings
Roberto,
I'm using pmSystems, which makes it a lot easier, but I'm able to use my CH
Throttle (and Yoke) buttons to do lots of things. I'm not a cockpit
builder, so I rely on those buttons (and XKeys) to take care of everything.
I use my CH buttons on both the Throttle and Yoke, and, in fact, I make
buttons as "shift" buttons to increase the number of things I can do with
them.
For example, my Throttle buttons do control the Engine Start buttons
(individually) and the Fuel Cutoff switches (individually). In addition, my
Throttle buttons alone also control the following: gear, flaps, apu, lights
(landing, taxi, strobe, nav, beacon), parking brake, and autobrakes. Using
the "shift" functions carefully, it not only increases the number of things
I can do, but it helps prevent me from accidentally doing something major
during flight. For example, I have to hold down two keys simultaneously to
start and stop Engines and APU, but only one key for, say, landing lights.
With a USB Xkeys device and more shifting, I control everything including
generators, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
I know it's doable without pmSystems to control certain FS functions using
FSUPIC offsets. With pmSystems, I go through a fairly realistic process to
operate the entire airplane. It's not a cockpit, but it certainly is fun.
I certainly don't want to oversell pmSystems , but it's changed the
whole simming experience even without cockpit hardware.
I'd be glad to share anything that anyone might find useful.
Warm regards,
David

Re: Ch Throttle Quadrant Settings
Roberto,
Which AX-keys device are you using? I am also interested in using an X-keys
device and a CH throttle.
Thanks.

Re: Ch Throttle Quadrant Settings
Hi, John.
I'm using the 20-key version (XD-03-USB-R). See http://www.ymouse.com. I
use it in combination with the CH Yoke and Throttles, and, with some
shifting, it controls everything and totally eliminates the keyboard.
Again, it's not the real thing, but it's very functional and fun.
