Too hot for building
Some of you might be wondering where i have got to (maybe not lol) i haven't been actively posting or doing any building on the sim for a couple of months now, its just too hot at the moment, My sims on the top floor of the house and that floor is mostly glass windows so its like an oven, and the aircon costs too much!! I try and fly at least once a week. I will be thinking of relocating the sim when the weather cools so i can build all year round
Now im off to the pool to cool down

Re: Too hot for building
Sean i tried vatsim once and bagged my trousers, if someone could hold my hand and slowly introduce me to online flight i would be eternally greatful. I should be ok really because i used to online simrace in a number of leagues and those guys take the racing very seriously. So give us a few pointers

Re: Too hot for building
I'm just getting into VATSIM (about 15hrs flying) and it's much better than flying offline. It'd be great to get you back online too. So long as you are confident about flying your aircraft reasonably accurately, then you'll be fine. I know what you mean about bagging your trousers tho!
You already have a PilotID with VATSIM, why don't we meet up at a quiet airfield with no ATC and we'll set up a private chat channel and take it from there.
You'll need your PilotID and password, Squawkbox and I'd recommend you download VATSpy so you can see who's online and where.
Look forward to 'seeing' you online (and anyone else who fancies tagging along)!

Re: Too hot for building
Steve and Sean I am also just getting into Vatsim (about 5 hrs) and I find it nervewracking but also brilliant. I always seem to make at least 1 stupid mistake each session. However I think, after a while, one could become quite proficient as it really isn't that difficult. It certainly adds loads of realism to flying.(Looking forward to your build re-commencing Steve as I really enjoyed following your progress)

Re: Too hot for building
Hi steve been wondering how your build was coming along, I know what you mean when you say too hot im in sydney & my cockpit is in a 6x3 Metre metal shed down the backyard & it gets like an oven there too in summer, have managed to insulate one half of it , but planning on getting some air con going there in future though. How did your Overhead go haveyou got it all connected up & configuerd? would love to see it all lit up..
I have been flying vatsim for a number of years now & found that if you plan your flight well then for most of the time you can predict what the controller will tell you next , for the most part anyway. I know from when i started it can be very hectic when its all going on. I have a mobile vhf scanner which i listen to sydney airport on when in the car etc etc, Which has helped alot when flying with controllers. I cant remember now the last time i didnt fly online. anyway good luck with it all steve keep us posted
Cheers
