Re: Hall Effect
This looks like an excellent concept and one that I'd love to try. I wonder if these sensors would work with pretty much any interface? FDS SYS3?

Re: Hall Effect
I first saw this tutorial on the frugalsworld.com forum, but it was also posted on the Ubisoft forum for IL2 Sturmovik. The designer and builder uses the tag "Julian625". A quick search of the Ubisoft forum for IL2 found this entry in the General Discussion area: http://http://forums.ubi.com/eve/for...3231057376/p/1

Re: Hall Effect
I was so impressed with Julian625's concept, I found him elsewhere and asked him if we can post it in our tutorial area. Of course he accepted
You can find it here, look for julian635's tutorials: http://mycockpit.org/tutorials/browsecategory.php?c=6

Re: Hall Effect
A hall sensor will work in just about anyplace you have a pot. Hans Krohn put them in all his flight controls some time ago and swares by them. I am looking at trying them in mine as well. I will have to look at where you guys are seeing them for 11CAD..... The ones I was looking at where a lot more then that.

Re: Hall Effect
The Allegro A1301 linear Hall sensor is a cheap entry into experimenting with hall sensors. See the May 5 and March 25 entries here: http://www.mikesflightdeck.com/ for some thoughts on using these sensors in a rotary position sensing application.
