Anyone with a real 727/37 shell have this measurement?
Hello,
I am trying to clear up a discrepancy in some measurements that I have. I guess this happens when you look at more than 1 source.
I am looking for the width of the cockpit at the aft top and bottom corners between the aft windows. I would be happy with measurement from an FDS shell also.
Many thanks for the help.

Aft edge of the aft window (inside skin to inside skin) Bottom=95"
Aft edge of the aft window (inside skin to inside skin) Top=82 1/2"
Hope that's what you needed

I think that's it. Many thanks for your help. Here is a drawing that shows better than I can explain.
Once again, thanks

Re: Anyone with a real 727/37 shell have this measurement?
Hi Orwell,
I had 2250mm/88.6" for the distance between top aft corners of aft windows.
Sorry, I dont have measurements for bottom aft corner of aft window, but between bottom aft corners of next forward windows (lowest window point) I have 2120mm/83.5" and between top aft corners I have 1790mm/70.5".
I don't know how this compares to what you have, but as you say there are several versions around, and all of them are slightly different in some way or other.
Hope this is of some use.
Cheers,
Rob

Re: Anyone with a real 727/37 shell have this measurement?
Have a look at my website, www.markuspilot.com.
In the measurements section. See the .doc or .pdf file
I have, today (5th Aug) re-measured the windows. Measurements are internal
Distance from plastic liner / moulding / cover /
Add another 70 / 80mm each side to get the distance to the window glass.
If these measurements seem small - remember they are internal.
Add another 40-50mm each side for the thickness of the glass to get
approximate external dimensions.
As always build your sim to fit your room rather than something thats 100 % accurate but impractical.
I'll update my document with better pictures.
Flight deck width - top of the window
Window No1 / No2 = 1390 + 120 = 1510mm
Window No2 / No3 = 1630 + 140 = 1770mm
Window Aft No3 = 1910 + 140 = 2050mm
Flight deck width - bottom of the window
Window No1 / No2 = 1530 + 120 = 1650mm
Window No2 / No3 = 1930 + 140 = 2070mm
Window Aft No3 = 2190 + 140 = 2330mm
regards
Mark
