A Few Questions
Hello everybody. Recently I've scaled down what I'm looking for in my home cockpit, so here's a list of what's going in my Sim.
1 Radio Manager
1 Transponder Controller
1 Side Stick Controller, left side mounted (Purchased)
1 Saitek Throttle Quadrant (Purchased)
1 Set Saitek Rudder Pedals (Purchased)
X Things to control other functions
A few other things I'll mention below
So, as you can see, I need some help. I have a few things purchased, but I need to figure out a few more things.
First, I'd prefer to have just *one* panel to control the radios (all) and the transponder, but I'd be willing to go a bit higher. At most, I'd have one for Com (1 and 2), one for Nav (1 and 2), and one for the transponder, but that would be my 'last resort'. I need some suggestions for this.
Next comes the matter of all the little functions that you find you use often enough that you don't want to click to use them. A good example of this is perhaps the Yaw Damper or things such as that. A bad example would be air conditioning controls for the cabin. What can you recommend that's affordable and can control um....things?
Third, I plan on running things with one monitor having the 2d panel and the forward view. I might then have the charts, GPS, and all of that stuff on another monitor. Could somebody point me out to a small, cheap monitor (LCD)?
Thanks for your help,
Coolmanak

For your radios etc you can combine a GoFlight P8 (GF-P8with a GoFlight GF-46. The P8 is an eight pusbutton unit and using them you can select Com1,Com2,Nav1,Nav2,Xpndr,ADF etc to be displayed on the GF-46(one at a time !) I have this set up and find it works perfectly. GoFlight units are expensive but very reliable.
Other switches you might want to include would be Park Brake,Spoiler Arm, AutoBrake, all individual light switches. That should get you started. You can use your Saitek throttle for (1)throttle,(2)flaps and (3)landing gear.

Take some time to check the GoFlight Systems
Goto
http://www.goflightinc.com/support.shtml
Download the module support software (v1.77)
Open GFConfig Help
Read all the info and see the list of all GF-AC Function reference.
You can get all kinds of Avionics combos:
One GF radio can act as Comm ,NAv, Trx,ADF at the flick of a switch or be a specific radio if you can buy several.
All the other toggles or pushbuttons or encoders module can drive basically all functions.
Assigning the functions is one mouse click away.
