12V power supply
Can a battery trickle charger be used as a 12V power source (for very very low amps)
If not why?

Jack
You need to be careful as a lot of battery chargers are rudimentary and have little smoothing, actually putting out more volts ie up to 18v. Perhaps you should check the ouput of your charger with a meter.

You'll need to put a load on it to find out while you're taking readings.

The best soluton for 12V is used PC power supply. You have stable 5V and 12V, in new PC also 3,3V. Also secured for overloading, and short circuit.
