Ok, I have put together a plan for the MIP in my Sim. Its a combination of a Mooney and a Cessna since those are the two planes I fly most. It could also be a Piper...
I'd like some comments on the design and what you think of it. This design includes all the hardware I already had plus all my new stuff I just got from my friend in Italy!

looks quite nice, but what´s the smart card reader for? Do you have to insert your Visa, Master, Amexco, etc. before startup?? ;-))

I have a 4 port USB hub on my lower MIP, which is handy.

Maybe you might want to add your microphone and headset jack on the front panel for your online flights.

Well, after I posted this and went to bed, I decided to swap places with the ADF indicator and the bank of 6 switches. I like it much better that way.
Then later I realized that this will be a temp panel since the entire thing is going to change when I switch it over to the motion platform.
The smart card reader and the DVD drive are the parts of the computer that dont have any other access point. Since I'm building it all right in, I need them where I can get to them. I did have the headset and mic jacks on here but I dropped them because it will be built in anyway.
The 4 port hub sounds interesting... What do you use it for?
Oh, and Peter, only guest pilots need to insert a credit card before flight! Gotta pay that flight insurance somehow.... ;)

I still use my sim PC for other tasks and my CPU is mounted in the sim frame under the centre console beneath the MIP. My FMC panel swings open on hinges to access the disc drives but the USB port is out of reach so I used the 4 port hub for easy access of my memory stick and digital camera. I can also plug in joysticks here for other flight games such as European Air War, Sim-Boards only work with FS.

I second the USB hub and the headset/mike jacks in the front.
With extra USB ports you can install additional flight controls like a joystick/throttle easily.
