Boeing Books Order for Six Next-Generation 737s from Pegasus

SEATTLE, March 09, 2006 -- The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] today identified Pegasus Airlines as the carrier which earlier this year placed an order for six Next-Generation 737 airplanes. The order was previously accounted for on Boeing's Orders and Deliveries Web site as being from an unidentified customer.

Deliveries of these aircraft to Pegasus Airlines, an all-Boeing operator based in Istanbul, begin in 2008. The order is valued at $406.5 million at list prices. In addition, the airline holds purchase rights for six more Next-Generation 737s.

Pegasus Airlines started operations 15 years ago with a Boeing 737 and has since grown its business to a fleet of 14 Boeing 737s. Boeing Commercial Airplanes predicts strong traffic growth for the Turkish aviation market, both domestic and international. Over the next 10 years, Turkish carriers will require 160-180 new airplanes. Single-aisle airplanes like the Boeing Next-Generation 737 will constitute the majority of demand.
