Never try to move a loaded overhead by yourself

I decides to use this day off to finally get this overhead positioned correctly. I moved it 8" inches back, and 3-1/2" down at the top edge.

The first photo whos the new ceiling mount that spans two ceiling joists to make sue it didn't come down on me.

This photo shows the new turnbuckles and threaded rod holding the front edge in the correct position. The screw eyes in the forward wood, and the overhead used to mate up with a single threaded rod holding it in position.

This is an overall shot in position. It's right at 25 degrees measured with a protractor.

Now I can reach everything again, and it looks like 727 cockpit photos I've seen.

It nearly got away from me a couple of times, but nothing was broken or damaged. I was surprized at the weight gain since I've been replacing my scratch-built panels with Boeing panels. It must be up around 55-60 lbs. now.

What is your eventual aim for front view? A big monitor?

Yes, I'm thinking of one large monitor. My instrument panel stand and the glareshield is much deeper that it would be on the actual aircraft. I'm thinking that if I cut the back of the glareshield up a couple of feet, I can get a 28 or 32" monitor into the MIP structure.

Nothing definite is planned yet. I'm in a slow transision here from having my MIP up and running to now needing a larger outside view, but no hard plans as to go about it.

A projector is out as there is absolutely no ceiling height or forward area for a projector or screen. I'm sure it will be monitors, but haven't decided how to get the most out of this cubby hole my sim is stuck in.
