(Another) Started 777 Simulator Project
HI there all, I very new to the forums, I will be brief and quick
I started Boeing 777 simulator project a while a go, So I decided to do it ( without knowing what program or how is everything hook up)
Guess what I still don't know so I I might as around ( sorry for being a newbies)
My plan was I will built the 2 : simulator
MK1: will be built like replica of the real 777 cockpit but some equipment will come from Boeing 737 (since the part is more easier to find.)
The overhead panel, panestal, CDU will be touch screen based.use with PMDG, just to see thing get going first
MK2: will be truly true scale from 777, but everything in detail take time and money so it's like a long year project
Also I still very unclear about the IO CARD, How do you guys connect with that? Any way appreciated your help and input
Thanks
Kit

Re: (Another) Started 777 Simulator Project
May you tell me where you got all the measurements?
Re: (Another) Started 777 Simulator Project
Nice work and glad to see you are taking time to plan and build in phases. That really helps... especially using 3D modeling. For IO, I use Arduino cards. There is a bit of a learning curve, but they are very versatile and affordable cards. I also use Phidget IO cards. Pretty simple to hook up but a bit more expensive. There are quite a few other IO options that others can suggest.
Best wishes with your project and you're definitely off to a great start!

Re: (Another) Started 777 Simulator Project
Holy, How did you do that?, Looks very good!
I am just wondering did you use a CNC machine for this? I don't want to spend millions of dollars on a cnc machine though
Re: (Another) Started 777 Simulator Project
Herman, Nope nothing that I use it's no CNC Machine yet, just couple of guys measurement and cutting

If you still have a copy of your measurements on the MIP, glare, etc..., can I get a copy?
Thanks

Re: (Another) Started 777 Simulator Project
Do you have dimensions for the overhead panel? I cannot for the life of me find them anywhere for a B777!
I have tried searching relentlessly and a bunch of stuff points to project777.com... but that's down :(
Re: (Another) Started 777 Simulator Project
Sent me an email at kit0074@gmail.com I will sent the latest update on Overhead panel file size

MY latest work upgraded with Projector :)
Re: (Another) Started 777 Simulator Project
man, that is some craftsmanship.. One of these days I will have enough free time to knock out my MIP.
Re: (Another) Started 777 Simulator Project
Very nice work, I assume the overhead works well as a touch screen?
Also what are your visuals, 160 degree surround view?
Re: (Another) Started 777 Simulator Project
Project looks great! I am selling a 777 overhead at a reasonable price if you are interested, PM or Email me

Re: (Another) Started 777 Simulator Project
Well, I have not really calculate the surround view how wide it is but I I think with the space I have 2 projector is enough.
The Touchscreen panel work well with 2D panel but again it's lost the feeling it's good if you fly different plane but prefer actual 777 lay out so will do my own panel
