A320 Computer procedure trainer and Jeehell software suite
Hi JL,
Any plans to create a 'clickable' or touchable MIP that can interface with your software?
With touch-screen LCDs dropping in price I am considering setting up a flat base trainer like so --
Attachment 8577
Attachment 8578
All panels are undockable, so overlaying a MIP graphic over the PFD/ND should not be a problem --
We would only need a selectable gear, and autobrake.
Thank you.

No I don't have such plans for now, don't really want to compete with CAE ;)
The big problems are it's really time consuming to design the panel and also make it work with all possible resolutions is a nightmare...
Regards,
JL
Re: A320 Computer procedure trainer and Jeehell software suite
I will try and create my own panels then and attempt to integrate with your software :)
Your switches are toggled by FSUIPC? I can for example, create a switch on a 2D panel, and clicking on it will call the appropriate Jeehell command?
Thank you.
Re: A320 Computer procedure trainer and Jeehell software suite
This is possible yes, using the offset list provided in the user guide (FSUIPC support must also have been installed on main computer).
Re: A320 Computer procedure trainer and Jeehell software suite
Well, not much luck integrating existing A320 2D panels onto the Project Airbus -- I guess that means I will have to learn how to program XML gauges.
Jeehell -- any other methods you can suggest to create a brake panel gauge to be undocked, or would a 2D panel be the best way to carry it out?
I am not familiar with programming (Okay, did JAVA 'hello world' many many years ago) -- so I think creating a .exe file would be out of my ability.
Re: A320 Computer procedure trainer and Jeehell software suite
Sorry, I thought you wanted to make an external application which would act as a "background" for my software.
There is striclty no way to integrate my gauges directly into FS.

yes that is correct - if possible I would like to create an external ".exe" which opens a clickable brake and gear panel and interacts with your software with FSUIPC offsets. The only problem is my knowledge of programming is limited and I so not know how to.
The he alternative is to create a 2d panel and use XML gauges to interact with FSX/P3D and your software again with FSUIPC offsets.

In that case Icannot help you much sorry...

I would be willing to part with some cash if someone would be able to assist --
I require a 2D panel for the landing gear panel (LDG gear indicators, auto/brk, A/SKID, and Terr on ND), and the gear select itself.

Re: A320 Computer procedure trainer and Jeehell software suite
Seems like the only way for XML gauges in FSX/P3D to communicate with FSUIPC offsets is using a XML <==> C bidirectional.
Sounds...complicated.

Re: A320 Computer procedure trainer and Jeehell software suite
There is another, simpler way. Try WideFS. http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html
Open: WideFS User Guide.pdf
Pages 8 and the next.
You do a few buttons ...
or:
I have two setups at home. One - a full cockpit. The second - only 2 computers. One joystick and two cheap pads. It replaces everything you need for flying and testing the software.
The main computer (FSX/P3Dv2) is sometimes in the cockpit, sometimes with a test kit. It replaces only two files in FMGS Server. Then I do not have anything more to do to have the pads instead of the cockpit.
Re: A320 Computer procedure trainer and Jeehell software suite
Thanks totom, I will investigate those 2 options. Hopefully someday my setup can look like this http://panda-f-a.com/en/training_facilities_apparatus/
Re: A320 Computer procedure trainer and Jeehell software suite
Hi totom, do you know if it is possible to overlay graphical images over the WideFS buttons?
Thank you,
Ben

I don't know, I never needed this thing...
Re: A320 Computer procedure trainer and Jeehell software suite
The Dream - aerosim virtual procedure trainer - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFoFBPH6VMM
Re: A320 Computer procedure trainer and Jeehell software suite
The alternative -- and what I think might work, would be to find an A320 with a virtual cockpit (such as the aerosoft airbus extended), zoom directly into the panels needed -- setting up multiple windows this way (captain, first officer, middle section MIP, OVH, and pedestal).
By placing these windows onto a touch screen LCD you now have interactive panels.
I would appreciate any other idea how I could implement 2D panels to work with Jeehell FMGS. Thank you.

Re: A320 Computer procedure trainer and Jeehell software suite
wow amazing, I cannot wait1 Did you get your sidestick from Flybycockpits yet?
Re: A320 Computer procedure trainer and Jeehell software suite
That video is not my setup :P Its a developers (unreleased) version of their A380.
I asked for some changes to my flybycockpit sidestick (asked them to moved the USB port to the front of the device, hidden away), so hopefully it should be ready soon.

They probably forgot to include it in the picture.
