Hi
We need some more info.
Does windows recognize it as a usb device ?
Can you see it in the main SIOC window ?
Regards
Claus
Build your own 737 NG home cockpit
yes and no, there are 0 clients it says
So Windows can see it.
Can you see it under Devices in the SIOC window ?
Attachment 7738
no it is not in the devices window
well, that why !
You need to install it, so it works with SIOC
I have placed a tutorial on my site, perhaps it can help you
Regards
Claus
Thankyou where can I find your tutorial!!
Found it
Hi it is still not working after what you said even when I do the test mcp thing, the usb is not recognized now on the computer, please help
Are you using a USB hub, if so, is it powered?.
Have you tried using different USB ports on the main computer?
Also, suggest you post your sioc.ini file
Yes I am using a USB port and It is powered
Here is my sioc.ini

[ End of File ]
The MCP should be defined in this ini file accoring to the device id and type.
But if your computer wont find the MCP trough the USB if will nerver work. You will have to get the computer to fnd the MCP first, then it will get an ID number in te SIOC window, and you can continue to config this in file.
If your computer wont find it, try to connect it to anoter one and see if windows reqonize it.
Another try could be to unplug all USB devices and start with the MCP
Try plugging the USB cable into the main PC and not the hub - some USB Hubs are poor. As Claus suggests, when the MCP is recognised, you then need to define the device in the .ini file, but first things first
Hi yes I am plugging it into the main PC and it does not work on other computers either, error code 43!
When you say that it does not work on other computers, I assume that you are not using a hub and that you are plugging it in directly into a different pc`s main USB port. If so, are you sure that the power supply is working properly and giving out 5 volts?
I assume that this is a brand new MCP, if so, then perhaps you should raise this directly with Opencockpits
yes i am using the correct voltage supplied by opencockpits because even when i dont have it plugged in the port some of the leds come on and opencockpits are not replying to my email
Hi, are you using Windows 7 ? If so you have a known problem. Try running the next microsoft tool : http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9740816
If that doesn't work, download one of the following and run :
for x86 systems : Download Update for Windows 7 (KB976972) from Official Microsoft Download Center
for x64 systems : Download Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB976972) from Official Microsoft Download Center
The last two updates require validation.
The update says "update is not applicable with this computer" And I am using the correct update, I know I have windows 7 and 64bit
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!!!!!
Nothing, it's just another MS quirk.
Try the next link : Windows Modules Installer - Error 1450 Insufficient System Resources
Will this ruin my computer? I m a bit of a freak when it comes to this
The error you're getting is the result of the so-called "low registry space" error.
Are you familiar with the registry ? If so you might try the following :
Open the registry editor, surf to :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control
Look for the key : RegistrySizeLimit ,it's probably not there.
So right click and choose "new REG_DW0RD", name it RegistrySizeLimit and give it the value 0xffffff and reboot your machine
Now comes the tricky part : go to start, in the search box type "cmd" , command prompt appears at the top of the search window. Right-click and choose "run as administrator" .Verify that the command prompt says c:\windows\system32>
At the command prompt type "sfc /scannow" and everything should be fine again.
What do you mean "At the command prompt type "sfc /scannow" ? where do I put it? oh and when I do this do I try the update again?
I'm sorry, if you're not familiar with registry editing and the command prompt it's probably best not to tinker with it yourself. Maybe you can try and seek assistance locally. It's not that difficult to do , only a lot harder to explain. In the end there's nothing wrong with your MCP, it's a windows bug.
It is wise not to edit the registry, unless you are very computer literate :o
Just one thing puzzles me, is it not strange that it is happening on his other computers? Are they all Windows 7 based?
Yes the other is win 7 Based
Is there anything I can tell these guys at the computer shop? I already went there today to get it looked at but they said it wont work, I didn't believe him and thought you guys could help cause I really want it to work. Is there any software that will automatically fix the problem?
Regards
Clutching at straws now, but have you tried a different USB cable and ALL of the PC USB ports?
YES_______________________________________
Why not ask a friend who has an XP or vista machine if you can try the MCP on it?
Since this is also happening on other computers I suspect a windows update. You could try restoring your pc to a former date and see if that helps.
If you don't know how to do that, just google restoring windows 7, it's easy :-)
I dont know anyone with VISTA!
But it never worked in the first place, besides my windows automatic updates are disabled
In that case it's a VERY good idea to open your control panel, click on windows update and let Microsoft do it's stuff.
Could solve all your problems.
Sorry, Just annoyed
My sincerest apologies, Have a nice evening Sir, Thankyou four your help
Ok I am doing the scan thingy now after a lot of self pep talk:?
Well the CMD has finished it's scan and says "did not find any integrity violations" Now what?:???:
No... It did not work... anything else. Open cockpits are not replying
