737 sim parts for sale
Due to a complete change in plan, I have the following parts for a 737NG sim available for sale to help fund my new project.
-1 x FSC 737 Throttle Quadrant, Fully Motorised + FS2004 driver
still have all original "tea-chest" packing materials
-1 x Engravity 737 Gear Lever - unused
Engravity Performance Line Desktop MIP (the new full-size version)
-1 x Engravity 737 Captains MIP
-1 x Engravity 737 Centre MIP
Will throw in the mounting bracket for the CPFlight MCP/EFIS (80% scale units) and the switch kits for free
-1 x Precision Flight Controls Jetliner Control Column (Saab style)
+
-1 x PFC Jetliner Pedals
Would like to keep these as a package.
Also 1 x 10" touchscreen monitor, unused still in box.
Photos of the parts as an ensemble are available at http://g-bvob.blogspot.com/2009/10/bye-bye-boeing.html. Click on any of the photos for a larger version.
I'm open to offers, and for more details please drop me a PM. Parts currently in Ireland, but for anyone in the UK (or anywhere else for that matter!) I'll be over 16/17 Dec at my Dad's house and can arrange for onward shipping by Parcelforce from there, which'll be a lot cheaper.

Hi Jon,
may I ask how much you paid for the cockpitsection,
I know a section that was used for the chickentest:lol:
(they put dead chickens in a airgun and shoot them with high speed on the windows to check the outcome of a birdstrike)
but the askingprice was quite steep

After missing that CDU the other day my fingers were beating like a Humming Bird's wings writing that PM lol!
I'm only after the landing gear lever, so I hope you get what you need too. Good luck!
Jon> Great read on your website regarding the F27. Many thanks for sharing that.

Re: 737 sim parts for sale
Hi Kermit,
I happened to be in the right place at the right time:D So I'm afraid I can't give you any advice on what people would want for cockpit sections and I'm not intending to get rid of mine in the foreseeable future, but I do know a man who frequents these forums who may have one available soon ;)
Having been through the process myself I would caution that these things tend to be bigger than you might think - transport takes a bit of planning and then you have to house it! Also I'm lucky in knowing someone who owns a light engineering firm so the heavy cutting work and the trolley/mounting fabrication work aren't a problem.
Cheers

Re: 737 sim parts for sale
Hi Jon,
Thank you for your reply,
I just stick with my cessna cockpitsection, and have no intention for purchasing a Fokker F27.
A mate of my worked as a construction mechanic at the Fokker factory at Schiphol Rijk and seen a lot of it.
Also at this moment one of the manual-illustrators (Bosma)of Fokker is now working with me as a sales-engineer and still likes to talk about the good old Fokkerdays
note the F27 in the Netherlands wil cost you about 8000 euro ex seats and overhead.

Kermit,
I think the English phrase is "they're having a laugh". :!: Mine has the full overhead and seats, can't imagine paying 8K for it though !!

Re: 737 sim parts for sale
I think this the reason it isn`t sold yet:lol:
I know that the prices has soared the last few years as the vendors discovered the simulation-industry.
Just look at this one
http://www.aviationmegastore.com/ove...=355&art=88083
The frame is made of 2mm profiled steel
I had to ask the people at shop why the high pricetag,
My wife had to pinch me in the arm, because I couldn`t hold my face straight.:lol::lol::lol:

Re: 737 sim parts for sale
You could buy a cheap MIG welder and a load of steel tubing for 400 EUR!!
-
Re: 737 sim parts for sale
Hey Kermit,
I work in the double glazing industry and we use 2mm box section steel as reinforcing. That little pile would cost about £100.00!
Ok so they've got to cut and weld it together and throw some paint at it... Sheesss what a profit margin.

Re: 737 sim parts for sale
Just search my order books for steel prices,
I found 40x 40 x2 mm 1.70 euro a kg ex vat and shipping,
think it will weight about 20 kilo, 1,5 hour production welding incl cutting/drilling say 45 euro a hour,
blasting and painting max 65 euro m2,
cost of making drawings depends on amount of frames
assortment of bolts/nuts/ajustment feet 35 euro.
crate aproxx 35 euro
Not even shipping Door to Door from Holland say UK 115 euro or Germany 55 euro
I wonder what my platform will cost when finished :shock:

Damn, that works out a lot cheaper... I was at the AMS the other day and I too was absolutly knocked down bt the price of the frame, ... what is important to remember is that it is also designed around the Engravity kit, .. you might have trouble installing other stuff.

Re: 737 sim parts for sale
I think the theme of this thread was to highlight it would be far-far-far cheaper to build a frame yourself, or even commision one from a local engineering firm if you don't have the skill. In which case you would build it to suit. :?

I think nearly every simbuilder does have the measurement of his pit,
Again it just a matter of how far do you wish to go.
Do you want to have a full disclosure or just sideways or do you want the windows in stainless steel like the real thing or aluminium.
But for 4 k you come a long way

Re: 737 sim parts for sale
I think the theme of the thread was to advertise the gear I have for sale :?:; as it seems to have been hijacked I guess it's time for me to thank everyone who's agreed to buy bits, we'll get everything sorted over the next few days. I've got better things to do now than listen to moans.
On a positive note have we actually been reading some words which aren't slanted (allegedly) by the lure of advertising revenue?

Hi Jon,
Please except my apologies,
I didn`t want to hijjack your advert,

Re: 737 sim parts for sale
Hey Kermit,
No worries, it was the comment about the theme of the thread which got my back up :)
Just keep everyone posted when your new line in good-value cockpit enclosures is ready for release ;-)
Cheers

I also apologise Jon, I sometimes get carried away with the repartee in these threads and become oblivious to the original intent. Once again
I'm sorry if I offended anyone.
