Hi,
The next step for my cockpit build is to decide on my 737 MIP.
Do I continue searching for a MIP to purchase or do I attepmt to build my own?
I am not the greatest when it comes to DIY but I am a perfectionest so will not be happy with a poor appearance!!!!
I have taken a look at some of the plans in the download section which will help if I go it alone.
Any suggestions tips - or ideas where I can get a MIP without spending upwards $500.

$500 will buy you nothing as far as a decent instrument panel is concerned.
Hand made is doable.

I emailed a metal fab shop with a CNC plasma machine the CAD drawings of the MIP (http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/down...do=file&id=187) and for $50 they cut it out of thin black steel. Sanded it with a SOS pad and painted it up and it looks really good.I think they needed it in a dxf file format. If you are interested I can find what I sent them and post it.
If you do build your own, I also uploaded a pdf in 1:1 scale of the above CAD file http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/down...do=file&id=188. You can select a section and print it out at the exact scale (just make sure you select no page scaling). The size in which you can print is limited to your printer of course.

Go to 737 and main panel..they have main frame, panels, DU bezels, etc
prices look good....and they are located in the EEC..

Three years ago I machined my MIP from 6mm grey PVC sheet with a router and my Dremel tool. Easy to do, doesn't need painting and cost about $40!

Is there any chance you might have one of these scale drawings for a B767-300 MIP?? If you do, you will singlehandedly send me into a home cockpit frenzy! hahahaha Please let me know, as I have searched all over the place for one of these, but haven't been able to find one. Thanks!Quote:
