It isn't just wideview you will need. You must install a second copy of flightsim as well, and then select the outside view you want. Basically Wideview just runs that version of MSFS in slew mode.
You may be better off, installing another card in the fs computer and just running a longer cord over to another monitor, with an undocked view.

I've read that the second computer must be at least as fast as the main computer to keep from dragging the frame rate down.
I know you just got a nice faster computer too, so like me and my older system, you might be right back to square one.
I'm holding off using Wideview until I get yet another computer at least equal to my new system.
Good responses guys! I was planning on doing this via the old computer to just have the external spot view going and figured since the other (older) PC is running it, it wouldnt affect frame rate on the new Visual Server, but if it actually does slow the FPS for the host machine, forget about it. It was just an idea for fun and to allow visitors to see what the plane is doing on the outside. Sounds like it may not be worth it.
(and Trev, I was aware of having a full copy on the other machine, but thanks for the reminder for others!)
Eric,
Don't let anything discourage you, Why don't you just try it. It doesn't hurt to try anything.

hello eric......
i've never been able to get a good result using wideview on an outside view. while it is excellent when using cockpit views, i have always found that when using it in 'spot plane' view it has always stuttered. tried using different aircraft, different computers, playing with the settings and even now with a super dooper video card on a new system, still does it.
could possibly be something to do with the network because that's the only thing i haven't looked at yet. maybe someone else can comment .....
good luck anyway and best regards from wales.... ian
What kind of network do you have running Ian?
Hi Ian
For many years I have not been able to remove the stutter using Wideview however the thing I missed was to change the view to "fixed view" rather than "spot view" which worked for me.
However one thing to bear in mind is that Multiplayer in FS-X gives you the same functionality for free including AI traffic which is an addon for Wideview.

If you look at the DEMO VIDEO at FSC site, you'll notice 6 monitors, using WideView (also note below photo). Amazingly Sync-ed and without stutter, using WideView.

Yep, that's my point. Looking at the outside view monitor. The one on top, is Sync-ed beautifully no stutter :)
