Hi,
as far as I know there is no special "arc DME" function within the CDU, just like in the real plane (at least in the 737).
But you can easyly "build" an arc/DME procedure by creating your own bearing/distance waypoints (for example every 10° along the path of the arc) or put a disrance ring around your destination airport (by using the "FIX" function of the CDU) and follow this ring with HDG.
The first technique is also mentioned in Mike Rayīs 737 Checkride Manual. I did this several times for practice, and it works perfectly.
to JWS: Imho, Stefanloss mentioned two different methods.
One creates waypoints and is flyable by LNAV, the other merely draws a circle around a fix on the ND, and you need to fly along its circumference, be it hand-flying or executing segments with HDG sel.
Cheers,
Ah yes you're absolutely right, overlooked that, sorry .

Well, to make things even more confusing, you could even build your arc and then hand-fly along it.;)
Sorry, couldnīt resist! Have a nice flight everyone!
A lot less complicated procedure would be to just tune the DME and fly it by hand. :)
.arc180270/010xxx This will build an arc between radial 180 to radial 270 ten miles out from xxx vor with the PM cdu.
Affirm!!!!
Wow, I didnīt know that. Iīll give it a try next time.
I also didnt know that, Thanks very much sas!
Gents,
my next arc will be dedicated to Anders:cool:

Sorry, this is not ARC related but HAND FLY related..
with the last couple of MCP/CDU builds and using the CP Flight MCP if i disengage LNAV it will not let me disengage HDG SEL at all, ie i cannot turn manually at all without also disengaging the AP, some time it is quite handy to have AP engaged for Flight Level but giving me manual control of the turns.. but this seems to be imposible.. any ideas?
Tks

Hi Peter,
if I recall it correctly, CWS (control wheel steering) is not implemented (yet??) in PM Boeing suite. This had been discussed in the old PM forum already a very long time ago.
