Is there a golden rule in terms of activating approach mode?
For example, I activated approach mode while my aircraft was descending to 2500 ft.
Aircraft was at 250 knts, so it pitched the aircraft up to slow the speed down. But in doing so, I couldn't make the 2500 ft altitude waypoint to meet the GS attitude (aircraft was way above at around 3500).
Thank you.
As far as I can see the DOOR/OXY page is eyecandy only, right? How do you check your doors status guys?
One golden rule in a320. Or descent, or deceleration. Never together ;-)

Hi JL,
since 26FEB14 my Flightkeeper always complains about wrong altimeter settings during takeoff or landing. In fact I have put the correct altimeter setting (e.g. QNH 1028 today for landing at EDDF). Flightkeeper records always 1018.3 at altimeter setting, for every flight since 26FEB during takeoff and landing.
Is it possible that the altimeter setting is no longer transferred to FS after a version change end of Feb? I am using FS9.
Thanks
Stefan
Hi
@Jiri: unless you have a more visual description (i.e.: video) it's hard to understand what you encounter... I do not have any issue when doing autolands personally.
@Stefan: I think it's has been this way even before the end of February, I do not remember exactly. But the only way to have multipe independent altimeters (at least 3 in our case: CPT,FO,STBY and for some ISIS and STBY in meter) is by doing that: I fix the QNH setting of FS at 1018.25, and I then compare how many feet we get between readings at 1018.25 and readings at 1013.25(std pressure). This way, all altimeters are always independent and show a coherent altitude difference if set at different settings.

Usually the computer calculates the "Descent" phase, and when to switch to it...but I have also been told to activate at 7000 ft?
How would you calculate when to commence Descent phase prior to reaching FAF manually? And would it be disastrous if descent phase was activated after FAF?
