You really want direct flight controls like yoke, rudders and throttle quadrant connected directly into your FS PC. There's too much latency otherwise. This is why networked axis controls aren't offered by WideFS.

Hi Pete,
Thanks for the tip... I will have the yoke and pedals connected direct into the FS pc.
My TQ is a Symulatory TQ that uses FSBus for TQ inputs, Speed Brake, flaps and auto trim etc. but also does the inputs for the pedestal and FMC - do you think I should swap and have the OH on PC3? Wonder which would use more pc processing PMSystems or PM FMC???
Cheers
Mike
I see everybody uses quite heavy machines for the clients to run PM PFD/ND.
I run them on a P3 1 Ghz and I have frame rates of 50 with a simple geforce 4 videocard (has to be opengl compatible offcourse).
Besides that they run in the background things like mcp/pmsounds/pmgetwheather.
Before that I used a Ppro200 with win98. Even that gave a good result.
Thanks for all your replies, initially i was thinking of a 1 PC setup type scenario before i looked at Project Magenta, the thing i liked about Project Magenta is its ability to use a wide range of interfacing boards and its FSX compatability. The thing that put me off was the networking of PC's.
How easy was it to network the PC,s with Project Magenta ?
Is the network setup available through the Project Magenta software or is it simply done through your own os installed on the PC such as windows XP?
One other question, i see that many have different cockpit components of the software run on up to 6 different PC's, does the software from Project Magenta come in different sections, like how do you install diffent parts of the software to different PC,s
Cheers
Hello
Please take a lok to the Manual where this is clearly described.

The Network setup and effectiveness depends only on YOUR Windows setup, how easy or complicate you have done it.
Best is ever to let run Windows as easy as possible, each safety part and addition user account will give more problems to get full access from other PC's because you need to give rights for the clients.
Ha Ha so it is, thanks Thomas, my brain must have been going into overload and it was one of those late night cockpit researching nights when reading this because for some reason i skimmed over that part.
Thanks
