Thanks Gwyn.
Hopefully I'll have that reel harness installed by the end of the week.
Tell me, does that electric carving knife trick really work on this foam? I need to do a little carving on the back foam for lumbar support.
Yep sure does, And if you havent glued the foam down at all you can use a bandsaw with a metal blade as well is you needed to skim the edges.

Yep, I used to cut foam with the electric knife to do upholstery when I was into doing up panel vans, that shows my age! Gary is right about the bandsaw, I used mine to cut the foam for my eyebrow windows. Foam sellers use bandsaws to cut pieces to size. You will be pleased with the results from the electric knife.

Thanks a lot guys. I'm going to try this out in a couple of days.
The reel harness showed up today.
Stunning Mike, You really outdid yourself on the piece I think. One of the best things I have seen you make for the cockpit to date, and I am sure there will be more coming.
Great Job!
Yeah i agree with that pretty good for a homemade piece.
GO FOR IT! ;)
Well thanks Trevor.
My throttle was the most complex thing I've built to date.
Building this seat is actually a lot of fun without all of the frustration and problems I encountered with other projects.
