I was always wondering how many steps (clicks) per rotation is each rotary. I guess they are all the same but is it indeed so even for example the baro one? And since on the subject, how much travel does push and pull require to engage?

Thanks for the video but unfortunately it's not possible to figure the rotation steps from it.
If you could help with that it would be great, you don't even have to turn it on. Just start with the heading indicator triangle pointing in a certain location and slowly rotate it in one direction counting the clicks until it comes back to the same direction. Looks like it is around 20+4 but this makes a huge difference.
PS. I was surprised to see the rotaries skip steps and/or backslashing when turned to fast, exactly like what the cheap mechanical ones I use do. I expected the real thing to not have that problem!

Oh finally! Thanks man. It is 32 steps per rotation after all (or perhaps 30 if you didn't skip a couple in the video that I counted as double but won't make a huge difference).

Maybe because the equipment is over 30 years old, lol :)

No - at this stage we are going to turn on the mcdu and see if we can work directly with it You need 115 AC and a fair bit of current.

I enjoy following this thread, there really is no comparison between the real deal. Good to see you have preserved the parts but also trying to get them powered up. :)
