737 Home Made annunciators
Hi,
Not sure is this is the correct thread, but I thought I'd share it nevertheless.
I have been in the process of experimenting with building 737 style annunciators based on the Korry 318 design.
The Text is printed on acetate paper, layered 3 times and transferred to a thin lexan type sheet. Any glue works for plastics. I used revell, as it way just lying around, but epoxy's would probably give a longer life span... I have focused on the design, rather than the electronics, so the push button function is not applicable to the design. although could be implemented with a few more parts. For a cheap light dispenser, I used foam, which was cut into thin korry sized rectangles. The actual shell is made out of evergreen plastics, 1mm is great...Anyways, here are a few quick snaps, if anyone has got any ideas on how they did there's, it would be great to know! Please remember, It is still a WIP the final version will be spray coated for a cleaner finish and properly sanded.

Re: 737 Home Made annunciators
Thanks,
Yes the label was printed with a regular inkjet printer on clear paper... the type you use for projectors... we call it acetate. The tricky part comes when lining up the labels. Due to the ink not being a good light blocker, 3 labels would have to be layered. So any plastic glue works, as the paper is essentially plastic. The glue needed to be away from the text to avoid smudging. The lexan type paper is just regular plastic, maybe 3/4 mm thick which just adds stability to the light plate when gluing to the box.

Henri

Hi, what font did you use? Paul
Re: 737 Home Made annunciators
That looks really good, professional in fact, nice work.
Re: 737 Home Made annunciators
Hi, MS33558 is the font, although theoretically, you could use any font with this method for any type of Korry

Thanks Shawn! Its still a WIP so hopefully it will give a further professional look when completed.

very very nice Henri .. just checking, I googled Korry 319 .. but they don't seem to exist, perhaps you meant Korry 318 ?
Thanks

Re: 737 Home Made annunciators
Cool, thanks for confirming. I am planning on using the measurements on the site, to create a 3D model and then 3D print them .. the problem is, I need about 100 just for the FWD overhead
Re: 737 Home Made annunciators
Very accurate representations. A step by step mini guide would be great for many of us :)
