Hello,

I plan same system as yours. I want to asking about your computers and WideFS settings. Because I'm IT staff, maybe will not problem to configure WideFS but I never seen this system during operation...

Interesting setup, what do you think to the P3D?

Hello Gabor,

WideFS is very simple to set up. Just make sure that your computer workgroup is the same on all computers. Try to "ping" them, and if that is ok, then it is go. Download the latest FSUIPC and WideFS Client. Install FSUIPC on the sim computer and register both FSUIPC and WideFS. Unzip the WideFS client on the other computers. When you start the flightsim, the FSUIPC WideFS Server will broadcast to the network. No special configuration of IP. Accept request to allow application trough the firewall. Or you can manually allow it. When the client is connected, it way say so in the top frame. If any problems connecting, try to disable the firewall on your computers. Then; allow application trogh firewall.

If your computes are dedicated to the sim, then consider fixed IP. There is a lot of info in the FSUIPC/WideFS user guide. Good luck, and if you ar stuck. You can ask :-)

Thank you. It is a simple setup wich allows for little keyboard usage:-) The network GPS is an old relic, but I got the database updated to 2006, so it is not far of the FSX nav database. I only got the P3D 1.4, and it is pretty much the same as my FSX. I have not upgraded, but will probably do so when users are happy with the performance. I have X-Plane 9 and X-Plane 10 as demo, but for me it looks like Prepard3D is the future.

thanks for Your advice. I like reading any dox, but here is a saying: "a picture is worth a thousand words". When I see a working configuration, i learn more then from any document...
So, this weekend may I can try your advice.
By the way, in my tv now landed Mel Gibson in Air America on the side of a mountain (may with a Pilatus) :D
