Yoke shaft length

Hi all,

Does anyone out there in flight land, know if the shaft on the Cessna Pro yoke is longer than pro yoke. From the pic's I've seen, it does look about an inch longer.
I have the pro yoke now and installed so as the housing does not show. But that leaves the handle very close to the monitor I use for the gauges. It would be great to have the handle out more and the housing not show, but this is not be possible with the length of the shaft as it is.

Any ideas from ya'll, even how to build my own yoke, would be great.
