[Build Log]: Generic Simulator
Hi all...
I posted my introduction in at this forum back in august. You can find the post here: http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/showthread.php?t=13199
I have been spending time fiberglassing, filling, sanding, priming, sanding, filling and sanding again. But now it is getting closer to the point where I will be painting the simulator. Looking forward to that day!!
I put everything together and took some pictures this morning, so here are the results so far:

Attachment 1170
Attachment 1171
Everything now is primer colour. The colours used will be light "strctured" beige (made up by a combination of paint and microballoons) and RAL7011 which is by many are considered "boeing grey".
I have decided to change alittle from the original plan where I would use two 22" widescreen (ws)monitors and a 19"std in the middel for MIP. Insted I will use 3 22" ws monitor which will fit perfectly between the sidewalls. This makes it possible to show the full MIP of the aircraft simulated at or almost at 100% size (the 3 screens are appx 150 cm wide and the MIP of a B737 are 151.5).
The pedestal will also be redone so that it will fit a 22" ws touchmonitor in the FMC bay insted of the 17" std touchmonitor that were originally planned. The 17" will be placed at the back of the pedestal to show the radiopanels. Panels with hardware for tuning NAV/COM/XPDR etc will also be made although without displays.
There are no 22" ws touchmonitors available but at magictouch.com they custom make touchpanels and they are extemly helpfull producing a custompanel for me. I even consider adding touchpanels to the 3 MIP monitors - but it comes with a price ofcourse - remember this is lowbudget ;)
This cockpit building is infectious and hazardous if you ask me! Just as I was glad that most of the building and now also finishing is done, small ideas of adding an instructerstation part has started to pop up in my mind - I would hate myself for going in that direction - but love it when it was finished!
Oh well -for now I will start packing for the trip to Lelystad tomorrow, where I hope to meet some of you guys and discuss simming and building over a pint of beer - isenīt life great;)
Best Regards
