Today we are pleased to release Version 2.4 of NTHUSIM!

    What’s new?

    • Clearer image in DX7, DX8, and DX9
    • Ctrl-Arrows, to select a control point with the arrow keys
    • Better Activation Support, less confusing activation process and support for web proxy settings
    • Bug fixes, 32bit VLC on AMD hardware, Unigine, World In Conflict, etc.
    • Clearer image in DX7, DX8, and DX9

We found a bug where the DirectX 7, 8, and 9 drivers would cause the image to go a little blurry. The technical description is that there was a sub-pixel accurarcy problem, which is now fixed. The result is that games should appear clearer, mostly noticeable on text. OpenGL, DX10 and DX11 were unaffected.

    Control-Arrows

Using the Keyboard to configure points is very useful. Did you know you can use [TAB] to change to a new control point? It's pretty helpful for jumping to the next control point. But, you can now hold down the [Ctrl] key and press an arrow to select that control point. This just makes it much easier!

Press the arrow keys without control held down and it will move the currently selected control point in that direction.

    Better Activation Support

Let's face it, the big activation button was a bit ambiguous. Did that mean you had to push the activate button to activate the configuration you'd set up? Once you'd activated NTHUSIM the button went away and it was much more obvious what the intention was.

So we changed it. Now, if it's not activated, you can either activate it or continue in evaluation mode. That should make it a lot clearer.

Also, we've improved the networking support so it supports a few additional options including the computer's proxy settings.

    Bug Fixes

With every release of NTHUSIM we constantly improve compatibility with a variety of game/platform combinations. A list of some of the recent changes are:

    • There is a bug in AMD's 32bit drivers that caused and issue with VLC running in OpenGL mode. We've found a work around!
    • Unigine's DirectX11 support on 64bit operating systems has a bug. We've found a work around for it too!
    • There was a compatibility problem with World In Conflict when running in DirectX 10 mode.

    NTHUSIM v3 is coming!

We're working hard on some exciting developments and can't wait to share them with you! Stay tuned for some cool updates.
