Roger Dodger Aviation published a new Do-It-Yourself video. The DIY General Aviation Home Cockpit includes a step-by-step guide for building a desktop cockpit framework using materials from a hardware store and your existing flight simulator controls. The instructions also show how to easily modify a standard keyboard to resemble a control panel from a Cessna 172. The finished General Aviation Home Cockpit frame is built from PVC pipe. It elevates your monitor and provides a place to mount the modified keyboard. The instructional package can be purchased as a download.

The videos and instruction manuals show you how to build a desktop frame to elevate your keyboards and monitor. Modify a keyboard to simulate a Cessna 172 panel: complete instructions and printable button labels. If you upgrade to a Saitek switch panel, simply move the keyboard mod to the side frame and continue to use the buttons that aren't on the Saitek panel.
