Could anyone help me with telling me what pin is what on a 10K potensionmeter?
I'm trying to wire it up to my USB axis card and want to get it right.
I know there is GND/DATA/POWER but what pin is what?

Thanks
Damien

In general: one pin of the pot is one end of the resistor, another pin of the pot is the other end of the resistor, the third pin is connected to a variable point in between dependent on how you have turned the pot.
So between the third pin and the one of the other two pins you have 0 ... 10 K.

This has nothing to do with GND/DATA/POWER...

I don't know what kind of USB axis card you are referring to but suppose it's the IOCards one, then you have to connect these three pins to one of the 4 Jx jumpers indicated with a 1.. I guess the middle pin of the three is for the "variable" pin. Just experiment a little, you cannot do much harm with it. Its all passive electronics.

Thanks Nico

It is the IO USB axis card, the three pins on the card state that.
PIN1.GND PIN2.Data PIN3.+5v

All that i want to determine is what pin is what on the 10K pot.
I Think the middle pin on the pot is my data, and the 2 ends are the power and ground
Does it matter what end the power or ground go's on to?

No. If it works the wrong way, either change the wires or reverse the axis in FSUIPC or FS.

Yes, but that is the interface card side, from a pot point of view there is no GND or +5V side, you can use a pot either way, just like Boeing Skunk Works is telling.
