View Full Version : Flaps Retraction Problem

Hello,

iam using the actual cdu file for 737-700 from Steve Reyling.
When i takeoff with flaps 5 i should see a bug on the speedtape to inform me to set flap 1 and later flap uo, but i see only flaps 5, than flap 1 and up!?

When i retract the flaps to 1 the bug change to "1"...but i think it should be change to "up", because i allready set flap 1.

When i verify it in PMDG i see the flaps 1 bug in the speedtape after takeoff with flaps 5. No matter which 737 files i use, this is always the same. Only the standard 737 files shows me the correct flaps settings in the PFD.

Iam wrong, or can anybody explain me what to do? I think the next flaps after takeoff must be smaller than the takeoff flaps setting, and that step by step to flaps full up.

I also see all the different flaps bugs at the same time on the speedtape, but in PM the given Bug change his value...

Thomas,

I had the same problem!

My solution was to copy the section concerning flaps of the standard type file (the one that gives correct readings) into the cdu file I use.

Hello Hans,

thx for the answer. But i remember that this section was sepecial modified for correct flap settings together with other aircrafts than the FS-default ones.

Do you use a PMDG or other add on aircraft and the flap settings still works well and corrrect?

Hi Thomas,

I use the PMDG (no panel).
The "special modifications" files only gave me trouble.

Try to copy and past the original flaps section into your existing modified file and see what happens (make a backup first!).

Hello Hans,

i tried it and the retract bugs are correct now, but the flaps gauge shows the wrong flaps angel now. This is the old problem that appears when you use the standard 737 cdu file together with PMDG, PSS...

I think the problem is that the flaps section is responsible for both..the retract bugs and also for the flaps gauge.

Got this directly from steve, i can't try at the moment so if someone can report back...

This should be the flap table entry:
Cheers,
Steve

Hi,

thanks for the table..
I checked it, but the retract problem is still exixts. After takeoff with flaps5 you see only flaps 5 as a retract bug on the speedband. When you retract the flpas to 1, the bug-value will change to the selected new flaps settings

When i compare it with PMDG PFD so i can see two different retract bugs after flaps 5 takeoff ....one with value 1 for retract to flpas 1 and another at higher speed for flaps up. I think this is true and the correct config.

In short words.....on PM-PFD is always only one retract bug available and its value is the actual real flap angel thats set with the flapsllever at this time
There is no bug available for the next lower flapsettings.

Any other solution? Iam wondering about tgis, beacuase there are so many users of the PMDG flightmodel together with PM.
