Hi -

I have a set of original pots still attached to the throttle levers in the 747-200 quadrant I've picked up - I wanted to use these to trigger the sim, since they're perfectly aligned -

I ran a test using the Ch yoke wiring (replaced one of the ch pots with the 747 one) and it worked fine - next, I wire'd the 747 pot thru my phidgets 8/8/8 card (index=0) , using fs2, msfs2004, fsuipc, etc - the Phi Value box for the sensor line went crazy, moving from 30, 200, all over the place reguardless of the pot position - - when I clicked on the calib tab for that channel, the sensor slider was jumping between the first two bars, no matter where the pot was -

I then took a pot from the ch yoke and wired it to the 8/8/8, and it worked fine - 0>1000, smooth -

Is there a spec for pots that can be used with the 8/8/8? the specs of the 747 pot are:
Res: 5 K Ohms
elec angle: 130*
Linearity: 0.25%

I can email the sheet to anyone who can help out here -

thanks!

Namaste, Farrokh,

The only thing the analog input cares about is voltage.
Whatever voltage the pot outputs is what the analog input will respond to.

Works with voltage ranging from 0V to 5V in steps of 0.005V.
Attaching a good sentive voltmeter to pot might be instructive.

Have a look at Phidgets and PhidgetsUSA web sites-there is explanation there.

Regards,
Alan.
