I just found a lower voltage lamp replacement (LED) for my cockpit's Korry 387 light, which is perfectly for the current lamp hardware. But it takes 6V. Can they be powered by the LED64?

Thank you.

Just a guess here.... I doubt it... LED's only use 20 Ma bulbs require, quite a bit more.

That 6v LED take 20ma current. I look up the instruction sheet of my LED64 and I cannot find any info of what range of LED light can be used. Like the voltage range....

I need to know whether the borad can operate it before buying it.

So, hope you guys can help.

Oops, I thought you meant a 6V lamp.

You coud use original Korry 28V bulbs.
Have a look at Interfacekit documentation.
On the Featured Cockpits page there is pic and specs from a builder using Korrys.

Perhaps, I state my question again. Make it simple.

"Can LED64 board operate 6v LED light ? "

That's all I want to ask.

Thank you!!

Looking at phidgets LED64 hardware documentation.
http://www.phidgets.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=21&page=1

Board's maximum power supply is limited to 8W - up to maximum of 12V.

Using 6V power supply, 8W would permit total current of 1.333 Amps
or slighly more than 0.02 Amps for each of the 64 LEDs.

Let's get Matt to confirm that.

That's what I get too.... I wouldn't want to test it though:) Although I've found all the Phidgets components I've worked with are PRETTY RUGGED:) <G> I wonder how I know that???

Greetings - I have some similar switches - can you provide details on the LED's you found?

Best regards.

The board cannot put much more than 3 volts across an LED. So depending on how a 6V LED is made, it may not work. Probably it will work, it would just be dimmer, since there is likely an internal resistance in the LED to allow a set current to flow at 6 volts.
