View Full Version : GC closing down right after start

Hi all,

yesterday, out of the blue, my GC software stopped working. I started
Wide-FS, and than double clicked the GC icon (same procedure as always). The

GC opening screen appeared briefly and then the program closed. The log file

shows: "CDU not found". Programs like PM-Sounds and Whatzzup (both on the
same PC) start normally.

I do not understand this: since my last flight, NOTHING was changed on my
network or on any PC on that network.
Do I have a virus? Or is it just the regular off the mill FS Gremlins at
work?

Any help would be appreciated...

Hans

Katy,

I reinstalled the program and the latest updates, and now it works again
(please don't asky why..)

It must have been some kind of Gremlin attack, because all kinds of things
went wrong at the same time on my main FS PC. The PS2 keyboard was not
recognized anymore, FS9 stopped accepting keyboard (USB) and EPIC generated

inputs after some minutes of flight and the GC-NAV display stopped working
(as reported).

Here is what I did sofar:
- checked for viruses and found none
- reverted to a 1 month old restore point
- uninstalled and reinstalled the driver for the PS2 keyboard

Now I have the keyboard back and GC-Nav is working again. I'll have to do
some testing to see if FS9 keyboard support is stable now...

All the best and have a good weekend,
Hans
