Hi Bill,

Yes this will help me verify if the firmware is corrupted or not (if it will
load).

Thank you beforehand.

Serge.

Hi Bill,

Thank you very much for the file. Yes it is the good one, but did not succeed
to get the 747MCP working yet.
Will continue to try.

Regards,
Serge.

Hello Michel,

Yes I was able to contact Andrew, Thanks for the address.

I can eliminate the power supply now because I have some displays lit at the
moment. I do not know why. The problem seems to be in the firmware but I
need to know the serial number of the unit and I do not remember it.
I got this mssg from Andrew

1. Start->Run->"regedit"
2. Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Enum/USB/Vid_0403&Pid_fe90
3. It should say MCP000xxx where xxx is the serial number e.g. MCP000193

Let me know what number it says. You should probably do a firmware upload
once you know the number.

But I cannot find this link in my regedit, could you check it in yours if you
have time and tell me if it matches ? Do you have a serial connection to
the PC ?

Thanks for your help.
Groeten,
Serge.

Hi Serge,

Great you have already contact.

Yes, under the map Vid_0403&Pid_fe90 there is another map and this one is
called MCPXXX
I could see my serial there/

Btw I don't know if this helps, but pressing simultationly the Speed and
Altitude rotary set on and of the displays.

Yes I'm now using now the serial connection, as the complete aerosoft suite

is now using Enrico's drivers, so that I could benifit from the latests
additions of his software ( separate qnh settings F/O etc)

See you

Hi Michel,

Thanks for the information. I made the USB connection to the 747MCP and then
the link worked and was able to found my serial number finally, and so was
able to reload the firmware. The unit is now working again.

What do you mean with 'the serial connection use the new Enrico's drivers' ?
Did you do something special for that ?

Regards,
Serge.

Hello Serge,
Well from the beginning I used the Aerosoft MCP747 also as an interface for

the rest of my cockpitfunctions by using the expansionboards and the
joystick ports.
Therefore I had to use the Aerosoftdriver software which was also usb
connected.
But as this software was programmed long before the extention of a lot of
functions for the B744 glareshield (EFIS-L,MCP, EICAS,EFIS-L) by Magenta, I

wasn't able to have full use of them. For exemple the possibility to enter
undependent the QNH settings in Capt or F/O displays.

In order to use this functions, I had to change the complete cockpit
interface to phidgets except for the glareshield.
The complete Aerosoft B744 MCP Suite is now conneced via a serial
connections and PM MCP software has its special aerosoft driver set to on.
(That driver doesn't have expansionboards or joystick support)

Now all functions are available as they are available today in the PM MCP.

Ciao

Michel

Hello Michel,

Thank you for your explanation. I did not use the USB connection and used the
serial one right from the beginning, so in fact I used the PM MCP
driver.

This has make it clear for me.

Serge.

Serge,

I went into RegEdit and found the MCPXXXX key folder in my computer.

David,

It has become clear. the MCPXXX folder in the regedit is created only when an
USB connection is made. In my case I had a serial connection since the
beginning and so this folder was not crated.

I connected the 747MCP via USB and was able to find my serial number and so
could reload the firmware and all is working fine now.

Thanks for your input.
Serge.
