View Full Version : Force Feedback Motors. Hi from Wangandary Australia

I’ve just finished my Force Feedback Control Yoke using 24V 200W Chinese MY1016 scooter motors. However the high detent torque (“Cogging”?) means that small control movements while flying are very difficult.
I have read Roland van Roy’s comments about Glentek motors which have a skewed armature core, but importing from the US is a bit expensive. Any ideas on other sources of low detent 12V or 24V motors?

Beautiful piece of work. This deserves Brush less motor's. I built Ian(BuggiesBuilt for fun) FFB and find it an absolute dream. Smooth as butter as they use two Chinese
Brush-less motors. Not cheap but with the Lovely job you have done it needs them.
I also have the Iris Dynamics FFB which uses their own Patented Magnetic Actuator
for the Pitch mechanism(very smooth) and a Servo for Roll(not great but quite acceptable).

You mentioned Ian's BFF system and Chinese motors, but I thought he used Italian Avenzi motors? can you give me any details of your Chinese motors? I gather detent torque is not a problem.

Sorry for not getting back sooner. Completely slipped my mind. Yes i sourced the very
same type Ian used directly from the Manufacturer. They were very obliging but had
to give them the company i worked for before selling to me, a company policy i think.
Did you ask Ian if would supply you witha kit of driver boards and Motors. It would be well worth it.
Ive tried three different FFB yokes and the one using Brushless motors is the smoothest. Dont think there is anything smoother.
