Hi everyone , ive been a flight sim enthusiast for as long as i can remember being about 8 years old and picking up a copy for FS98.

I have a modest setup at the moment 3 monitors and saitek yoke , throttles pedals etc its just not cutting it for me anymore.

I had the dream of building a home cockpit years ago but the lack of information and parts costing 10s of thousands of £ it seemed like a hobby for millionaires.

Things have changed , ive been reading up for months and it genuinely seems possible on a modest budget these days ! On wards and upwards i intend to start a 737NG home cockpit and hope i can share the journey here and gain information as well!

Ive started pricing and looking for timber suppliers to construct the MIP support and glaresheild first , followed by an overhead frame.

If you haven't already made up your mind to build a 737 I would recommend the A320 because the avionics suite is free (Jeehell FMGS) :)

I love the a320 , but parts seem to be harder to get and more expensive
From what ive seen anyway.

I originally started on the 737 but moved to an a320 because implementing dual link yokes would be extremely difficult, and expensive. Not too mention you don't have the 'force feedback' on the yokes like the real thing.

Hello, great to have another new member on the forum, certainly the 737 is the most popular and therefore both replica and real parts can be sourced easier than other aircraft, however if you have ambition for a particular cockpit research is king and many will help you whichever aircraft you choose.
