Saw this one and a lot of other laser engravers for sale in aliexpress, reasonable price:

Do you think these cheap machines can do the job? Engraving painted polycarbonate panels for a home cockpit?

Any experiences?

HI
sorry for delay don't get into the forums as much as I should.
My experience of the cheap Chinese laser could fill a book.and a HUGE learning curve.
That kit looks like VERY small at 17 x 20 cm that's like 8 x 61/2 inches ?? and at 2000Mw its really a low power it probably can only cut thin card ... you need around 40 watts as a min for making (cutting) acrylic panels etc This would probably be fine for engraving but look again at the size.....my advice (from someone who has the worlds most expensive cheap Chinese laser) put the money towards an able machine....You can make one up from the parts at a sensible cost

I found (very quickly ) that even 20 x 30 (A4ish0 was really to small and limiting.
Pop over to somewhere like "lightobjects" you could probably get together a VERY able machine at a sensible price (or discover which parts you need then go to aliexpress to source them!).....dont forget , however the software to drive them is not cheap.

My two penneth

Hi B763

If you are not in a hurry (as my workshop is in pieces while I do some major renovation to my house) I can make you some front panels way cheaper than a commercial company...
